And already it’s such old news!

As I was too sleepy to stay up ’til 3am to watch the actual inauguration (large hats and all), I joined a celebration at expat bar/restaurant, The Pink Cow, in Shibuya.  They promised an evening of musicians, a replay of the inaug. speech, and general feelings of hope and goodwill.

Other than being crowded past the gills, it was actually pretty fun.  Had some good tortilla chips (freshly fried, no less), a shared feeling of “Hey, I can say I’m American without being embarrassed” and general cheering, applause, and energetic chatter.

The pictures are a little fuzzy, but hey – it gets the idea across. ( I wish I could blame it on the jostling of the packed room, but er…I did have one drink. )

I subscribed to the whitehouse.org RSS feed. Now I can get government updates along with my normal intake of comic strips, recipes, and other…useful…info…

By the way, in case any of you were worried…it’s January 27th, and yes, I’m still here.  So much for the bright, short-lived blaze of youth, eh?

    awesome! I was so hoping he’d do something like that. Makes so much sense.
    People need jobs, earth needs saving, put ’em together and…
